First Snow

we were told when we moved here that the weather often goes from summer to winter with little to no warning. we were enjoying summer like weather when BOOM! the snow & rain came last week. it had been 70's & 80's right before the big storm blew in. at my school it was pouring down rain. for all of you oregonians....we know how to drive & act in the rain. utah not so much! everyone was coming unglued that it was raining, we had indoor recess at school, accidents on the road...ridiculous! it was beautiful to see the snow in the mountains. it also made me fear what i have coming in the next few months. a teacher at school told me last year they had 18 inches of snow in ONE DAY! she said an angry parent came to school yelling at our principal, & saying how dare he still have school. she even threw her keys at him! just an FYI to the key throwing parents out there...the principal doesn't decide when to close down school, the district does. i thought it was a funny story! :) so a little glimpse of my upcoming winter scared me a little! we'll see how it goes.

PERSONAL UPDATE: i have been sick for about a week now. which is not good, there is no time for sickness in my schedule! i started my graduate program through Grand Canyon University (http://www.gcu.edu/) i am doing the reading program & will have my masters degree this time next year..YAY! but it is a lot of work until then. adam is doing so much to help while i am working. he makes dinner most nights, laundry, grocery shopping, etc. he rocks! he is officially enrolled & accepted at Weber State University & will start going to college full-time spring semester. he is undecided on a major right now, & will be taking pre-req. classes.

That's crazy, friend. Such cool mountains, though. What a view to live by.
