Total Chaos...ALL day

tonight was science night at my practicum school. for those that don't know....science night is when the CUESTE students do science experiements with all the students that come from Washington Elementary. my partner adam and i (no not my husband, my cohort friend adam) decided to have kids make SLIME! cool idea right?!?

i will backtrack a little and share a little about my day. we had two ladies come from EOU to do a professional seminar to help us get ready to get a job. it was FOUR AND A HALF HOURS LONG!! by the time they left i was about ready to have a panic attack. i will be going to job fairs in a couple weeks, and i have SO much to do. that was my morning.

then we had class with an unamed professor who likes to spring large projects on us at the last minute. we were told we have two weeks to come up with four-ten minute performances. that is not four performances in ten minutes...that is ten minutes for each performance. we are going to be graded on our performance and a paper we write about other's performances.....AAACCCKKK! this on top of everything else we have to do. so needless to say it was a battle teacher vs. students for the next hour.

my partner and i then had to make signs for reading night, get supplies together, go to the store, and set up in like an hour and a half. yeah, we were late! we worked like crazy to get the stuff done, and still had kids coming in 20 minutes early asking to make slime!

THIS is when total chaos ensued. we were making slime in little containers, bagging it and putting their slime in bags as fast as we could. there was slime EVERYWHERE! on the floor, table, me and my partner, desks, and who knows where else it was that we didn't find it! :) we were sweating while running around like crazy people for the next two hours. i kept count and we went through 150 bags....in TWO hours! our friends made lava lamps and went through 200 bottles in TWO hours. it seriously was the most frantic thing i have done in awhile.

after all the craziness i realized i hadn't eaten anything since lunch. i decided to grab some taco bell and a diet pepsi on my way home. i wanted to eat my dinner and veg in front of the tv for awhile. i go through the drive thru and it is the same crazy lady that is usually there when we go through. she always acts like she is in the BIGGEST hurry whether you are the only car in the drive thru or there are ten other cars. so, i get my dinner home and see that i have left my wallet out next to my purse in the passenger seat. i think that is strange i always put my debit card back in my wallet and then put the wallet in the purse. i proceed to check my wallet and sure enough....NO DEBIT CARD! at this point i could have hurt someone...BAD! ;) i had to drive back to TB and get my card. which she of course apologized for and i of course said it was fine, mistakes happen. but it really wasn't fine...i was fuming. oh well, at least i realized it before i forgot where it had been left (or in this case inadvertanley stolen) and totally freaked.

i had every intention of taking pictures of all the CUESTER'S doing their projects. needless to say i didn't get any pics of anything other than our cool door sign we made. i am glad today will soon be over...i will be even happier when this weekend comes. adam and i are celebrating v-day on sunday. i will post about that later. until then enjoy my cool slime poster!! :)

What an awesome sign! Well done!

I'm glad you found your debit card - that's lucky.

SOOOOOOO... The memories came flooding back! Like our science night when Cath and CJ made ice cream and we all had to go in and finish it up and help because the line wrapped clear down the 2-3 hall! Whose room did you ruin? they had Zimmermans! Calleen tried to make us to the performances too, which only lasted like 5 mins each. Luckily when we got there to do them she wasn't ready... you can just refuse to do the "write an essay about each performance" to get out of it. We refused and it worked! Running late, I'll read more later! Good luck at the mock interview thing, that must be coming up and also winter work samples???
