to start frantically searching and applying for jobs. it is so weird that in my chosen career you have a small window of time to get hired...if not you are out of luck for a whole year!!! i have interviewed with an environmental science charter school that i subbed at this year. i have an interview at good shepherd christian school next Friday. Adam and i are planning to go visit Utah later next month. i interviewed with the Weber (Utah) school district at the Portland educator's job fair a couple weeks ago. at this time it is my most promising lead. Adam and i have had to come to terms with the fact that out of state might be our best shot at this point. the education system in Oregon right now sucks! :( it makes me sad for our students, and new teachers (whom many are looking at unemployment next year). apparently other states aren't falling apart in this economy and that just might be where you find me! ;) the Weber district is 40 minutes north of salt lake, so it is close-ish to Oregon. it would only be a 7 1/2 hour drive to visit Adam's fam in Pendleton, and an 11 1/2 drive to my family in Portland. so i would appreciate your prayers as we are beginning this stressful journey again, this time of year is not my favorite. if i don't get any job offers i will stay and sub in my current districts, stay at Starbucks, and Adam will stay at his job. so i honestly have mixed feelings about the whole thing. i want more than anything to have my own classroom next year. plus, when/if i get a full-time job, Adam will go back to school full-time. but it is scary to think of packing up and moving AGAIN! i guess that is kinda our thing ;) we have already moved 5 times in 5 years of marriage!
on a lighter note: my sister-in-law had our niece this morning at 8:30am. Her name is Liberty Jean Rietmann. She is 8lbs. 3oz., 21 inches long, and Karin wanted me to know she had a 13 cm around head! :) You go girl!! she had her all natural! i have a pic on my phone, but can't upload it until later. we will be going to visit our niece next weekend. i will hopefully get some good pics then. Until next time.....KEEP PRAYING! :-)
oh p.s. we bought bikes....we kept saying we were going to do it and finally did. we have gotten to go on several bike rides and it has been alot of fun. this is a pic of adam the day we bought them!

heya honey...
have you looked at any of the charter schools here in north? i know that the portland village school is adding another grade every year so obviously they'd be hiring. there's another one (or two) in st. johns that have recently opened.
and what about DCS? did you try there?
i cannot stand the thought of you moving out of state... sick. there's too much going on with your p-town peeps... you need roots!
i'll ask around and let you know if i hear anything. i know some NoPo'ers (north portlanders) are desperately seeking a good, local preschool program... and there's a house up my street for sale...! ;)
