For Roxy's Best Friend

This is roxy and her best friend korbel. korbel is adam's dad's dog. she is a little over a year older than roxy. she is of course a beautiful chocolate lab. about six months ago she hurt her back leg. rich tried to keep her calm but she didn't return back to normal. they recently took her to the vet for x-rays, and to find out what was wrong with her. the doctor told them that she had blown out her knee. they had two choices; they could pay a LARGE amount of money so that she could have surgery, or they could put her to sleep! :( they didn't know how they were going to come up with the money for the surgery, needless to say we were all upset. they did get the money for the surgery and she had it late last week. the doctor said if she rests for the next week that she should come back 100%. but she can not be a dock dog anymore, due to risk of reinjury. this is one of my fav pics of roxy, cuddling with her best friend. they were so sweet when they were younger. korbel hasn't been herself since the injury, she has been more irritable. but roxy still thinks she is the greatest, thankfully they will be able to enjoy each other for years to come!

This is roxy and korbel playing, they are running around jean's backyard. this was one of the first times that they met. they don't play like this anymore, korbel is not supposed to run around anymore. thankfully roxy has candy (rich's yellow lab) to play rough with now!

I think this pic is so funny adam was trying to get roxy to pose like the statue behind them. he thought he was pretty clever. this is in joseph oregon, from last year when we were camping at wallowa lake.

This is roxy helping adam play cards. she was still a puppy in this pic. her ears weren't all the way up yet. when she was a puppy she had lab ears, and as she got older she developed the akita ears. she still thinks she is a lap dog, and will crawl into our laps to try to cuddle :)
Here she is cuddling with my leg. she's such a sweetie, we really couldn't ask for a better dog!

Here she is swimming, hopefully we will be able to take her to the resevoir this summer.
This was adam's idea again. he thought she looked like the wolf statues. wolves are her ancestors, akitas are direct descendants of wolves. you can see the similarities sometimes.
This is her in joseph again. she was patiently laying outside a tourist store while the fam shopped. adam and i would take turns babysitting her. she was very well behaved. she really loved camping, and i am super exicted to take her again in august.
