Roxy's Second Birthday

Roxy turned two on April 16th! It was very exciting celebrating her second birthday, we have seen a lot of maturity in her over the last year. She is less like a puppy, and more like an adult (well most of the time.) Adam and I went up to Tri-cities the day before so we could go to Petsmart and get her birthday present. We bought her a game called "Hide a Squirrel" and a new bone. I also made her a birthday cake using a dog friendly recipe I found off the internet. Unfortunatley we did not get a picture of her birthday cake. She seemed to really enjoy it, and we were pretty sure she knew it was her birthday! :) The first picture is the stump that you hide the squirrels in. It is supposed to be like a puzzle for her to figure out how to get the three squeaky squirrels out. The picture isn't too good, but you get the point! :)

This is what she chose to do with her squirrels instead. She was thrilled that she got three new little squeaky toys, and could have cared less about the stump. She decided it was too much work to get them out of the stump, she wanted to carry them around. She figured out how to get them out of the stump really quickly. She would grab the part of the squirrel that was sticking out of the stump and then she would carry it across the room until the squirrel came out.

Here she is playing with her squirrels. She likes to squeak them by pushing her nose down on them. She thinks she is pretty clever I am sure. It was so funny cuz the toy comes with not one, but three squirrels and she could not decide which one to play with.

This isn't her birthday cake, but she did eat this. Adam and I were making bisquits and with the leftover dough he decided to mold a Roxy. I thought it actually looked a lot like her. He has her sticky up ears and curled tailed. He frosted it with a little peanut butter, and she thought it was delicious! Oh, and he also sculpted a dog bone for her to enjoy.
